Uploads to sshot.online usually complete in a second or two. If yours is stuck or failing, it is almost always one of the following.
File is too large
The upload limit is 3 MB per image. Very high-resolution screenshots or uncompressed PNGs from some screen-recording tools can exceed this. Try re-saving the image as a JPG or WebP, which are usually much smaller for the same content, or crop out anything unnecessary before uploading.
Unsupported file format
Only PNG, JPG, GIF, and WebP images are accepted. If your screenshot was saved as a BMP, TIFF, or HEIC file, convert it to one of the supported formats first — most operating systems can do this with a simple "export as" or "save as" option.
Paste is not working
If pasting with Ctrl/Cmd + V does nothing, make sure the image is actually on your clipboard as image data (not just a file path or copied text) — some screenshot tools copy a file reference instead of the image itself. In that case, drag the saved file onto the upload box instead.
Network or ad blocker interference
A strict ad blocker, privacy extension, or corporate proxy can occasionally block the upload request. Try disabling extensions for the site temporarily, or switch networks (for example from a restrictive office Wi-Fi to mobile data) to confirm whether that is the cause.
Browser extension permissions
If you are using the sshot.online browser extension and captures are not uploading, open chrome://extensions, make sure the extension is enabled, and reload the page you are trying to capture — permissions are sometimes reset after a browser update.
