Reddit lets you attach an image to a post, but you cannot upload an image directly into a comment or a reply on most subreddits. When you want to drop a screenshot into a discussion, the reliable answer is to share a link to it. Here are both routes.
Posting a screenshot as an image post
- Click Create Post, choose the Images & Video tab, and upload your screenshot.
- Add a title and pick your subreddit. Check the sub's rules first — some do not allow image posts.
Sharing a screenshot in a comment
Comments do not accept image uploads, so you need a URL:
- Open sshot.online and paste your screenshot with
Ctrl/Cmd+V. - Copy the share link.
- Paste it into your comment or reply.
The link opens a clean page with your image — no account needed for anyone to view it.
Tips for Reddit screenshots
- Crop tight so the point is obvious in the thumbnail.
- Redact personal info — usernames, emails, order numbers — before you post. See how to annotate a screenshot.
- Use a link for edits — you can swap what a link points to more easily than re-uploading to a post.
The same link works anywhere else you discuss it — a Discord server, a ticket, or a doc. It is free and takes about a second.
