A screenshot on a Trello card makes a task or bug instantly clear. You can attach the file directly, but sharing a link is often handier — it keeps the card lightweight and lets you reuse the same image on other cards, in a comment, or in a linked doc.
Method 1 — attach the file
Open the card, click Attachment, and upload your screenshot. It appears as a thumbnail on the card. This is fine for a one-off image you will not need elsewhere.
Method 2 — add a link
- Open upload-image-get-link and paste or drop your screenshot.
- Copy the share link for a preview page, or the direct image link to attach a raw image URL.
- In Trello, click Attachment → Link and paste the URL, or drop it in a card comment.
Not sure which link to use? Our guide on the direct image link vs. share link explains it in one line.
Why link over attachment
- Reuse — the same screenshot can go on several cards without uploading it each time.
- Lighter boards — links do not add to your Trello attachment storage.
- Cross-tool — the URL also works in a bug tracker or chat.
Both methods are quick; the link method just travels better. It is free and needs no account for teammates to view.
