Confluence pages often need a screenshot to show a UI, a diagram, or a step. You can attach the file to the page, but linking a hosted image keeps pages light and lets you reuse the same screenshot across spaces.
Method 1 — attach and insert
Drag the image onto the page, or use Insert → Files and images. Confluence stores it as a page attachment. Best for a one-off image.
Method 2 — link a hosted image
- Open upload-image-get-link and add your screenshot.
- Copy the direct image link.
- In Confluence, use the image option and paste the URL, or embed it with the markup your instance supports.
Why link over attach
- Reuse — one image URL across many pages and spaces.
- Lighter pages — no duplicate attachments.
- Cross-tool — the same link works in a Jira ticket too.
Getting the link takes about a second, is free, and needs no account.
